about

Bittersweet is an old tune that we never finished recording until this week (29-06-20). Peter's guitar parts were written many years ago and, while Phil added lyrics and melody about 3 years ago, it was left as an unfinished project.

A poignant lament to lost loved ones, we hope you enjoy this emotional rendition of Bittersweet.

lyrics

Words and Melody: Phil Rowe
Music: Peter Charlton

I still feel you near to me,
Here, deep in my heart,
They say all wounds will heal in time.
I’m not scared to think of you,
Or feel you by my side,
Every day I feel the pain,
Of wishing you were here again,
Although the tears and sorrow end,
Because you’re still such a big part of my life.

Sometimes you come to me,
Deep in the night,
I see your face and it makes me smile.
Your friends reminisce with me,
And I glow with pride,
To see the way it makes them smile,
And though I know you’ve gone away,
You fill my heart up every day,
Because you’re still such a big part of my life.
